So a lot has happened in the past month. On June 12th, I was fired from TDS, they said my attendance hadn't improved, so they were letting me go. Which to be honest, was a bunch of horse poopey as far as I am still concerned, BUT, after the initial shock wore off, I realized they had done me a favor. A HUGE favor really. I wasn't happy there and hadn't been since they combined all three departments (sales, customer care, and retention) into one. I am not a sales person by any means, but I went into it with optimism and a willingness to do my best. And for awhile it worked. BUt after a couple of months, I wanted out, I wanted to be transfered to another department, one that would get me off the phones and away from nasty grouchy customers. I had just gotten burnt out, and I expressed this to both my supervisor and the HR department. No one would do anything though because even though I had been doing the same job for 18 months, I couldn't transfer since I hadn't been a full time employee for a year. 10 months and they couldn't bend the rules. Ridiculous really. So like I said, they did me a favor.

Right now, I am collecting unemployment, but the really good thing to come out of all this is that I will be going to school in the fall for medical transcribing. It's a one year program. I'm really excited! This whole episode has also strengthen my faith in God, He has great things in store for me, and it's been that faith that has kept me from panicking about having been fired. When one door closes, another one opens is a saying I've often heard, but never really felt I had experienced until now. It's a great feeling to say the least!

I was able to go home yesterday and was able to spend time with my family. Riley is almost 2 1/2 yo now, and has gotten so big, and is talking up quite a storm, too. I got back tonight and I'm babysitting for a friend, which is why I am able to be online right now, lol
